PORTAL (2025)
Basalt, Sumi Ink
38”x14”x75”
After centuries of solitude overlooking the Northern coast of Hawai’i Island, this stone seems happy to live in a more lively setting, sharing its story with people from around the world.
Standing between the hotel and the ocean, it’s a portal not just between architecture and environment, but also the material and spiritual realms which we all inhabit.
Installed at Mauna Lani Auberge, Hawai’i Island
